Our track record

We’re a not-for-profit organisation, so any surplus we make is reinvested into existing and new homes and services.

Hanover was founded in 1963 as the UK’s first nationwide housing association for older people.

Our original purpose was to offer quality homes for active later life. This emphasis on quality, individuality and choice continues to drive us today.

We now provide around 19,000 properties for rent, sale and shared ownership in approximately 600 locations across England.

As a specialist provider of age-exclusive housing, we focus on improving the options for people over 55 who are looking to move.

We’re a not-for-profit organisation, so any surplus we make is reinvested into existing and new homes and services.

We offer a range of options for Downsizer Homes. This includes giving opportunities to those unable to buy outright.

Each development includes properties for sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.
